I’ve been lucky enough to take some time out on International Women's Day to visit
Manchester Art Gallery's retrospective of
Annie Swynnerton. The exhibition is perfectly timed with
equality and powerful words being a great focus for us in 2018. Swynnerton was a passionate supporter of the women’s suffrage movement. She challenged convention, promoted female power and campaigned for better opportunities for women artists. It is so inspirational to see women here in these works from all walks of life. Let's hope there will be many more exhibitions like this in the future.
